The U.S. Embassy in Angola is proud to announce that twelve (12) members from Angola and three (4) members from São Tomé and Principe have been chosen to take part within the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Younger African Leaders.
Launched in 2014, the Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of the Younger African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and embodies the U.S. dedication to spend money on the way forward for Africa. YALI was created in 2010 and helps younger Africans as they spur financial progress and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and improve peace and safety throughout Africa. Since 2014, almost 5,100 younger leaders from each nation in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated within the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Twenty-seven U.S. academic establishments in 20 states and the District of Columbia will host Management Institutes for about 700 Mandela Washington Fellows. The six-week Institutes, hosted by school and college campuses throughout the US, will assist the event of Fellows’ management abilities by tutorial examine, workshops, mentoring, networking with U.S. leaders, and collaboration with members of the local people.
Alumni Enrichment Institutes (AEI) are a brand new alternative for 2021 Fellowship Alumni to collaborate with U.S. counterparts and one another and to proceed constructing the skilled and management abilities they developed throughout their digital 2021 Management Institutes.
