Eight senators from opposition events have raised the alarm over an alleged plan to impose a minority chief on members of the tenth Senate.
In a press release collectively signed on Saturday, the senators stated some individuals inside and out of doors the Senate chamber are planning to trigger a disaster among the many minority events with a purpose to weaken their energy within the higher home.
The senators that signed the assertion are Mohammed Aliero (PDP, Kebbi Central); Seriake Dickson (PDP, Bayelsa West) ; Aminu Tambuwal (PDP, Sokoto South) and Abdul Ningi (PDP, Bauchi Central).
Others are Abba Moro (PDP, Benue North); Ezenwa Onyewuchi (PDP, Imo East); Sumaila Kawu (NNPP, Kano South) and Ifeanyi Ubah (YPP, Anambra South).

The senators cautioned towards inflicting disaster throughout the minority events, stressing that they’ve all pledged to work and assist the Godswill Akpabio-led senate management.

We consequently hereby advise and warning that they need to not help any group inside or outdoors the Senate to divide and destabilise the minority events and the Senate establishment.
“Senators of the minority events would meet when the Senate reconvenes and, in session with our respective political events, would choose its leaders with out undue interference from anti-democratic forces inside or outdoors the Senate,” the assertion added.
The senators famous that the minority events are but to reach at a consensus for the place of the minority chief of the tenth Senate.

There are six opposition events with 50 seats within the tenth Senate. They’re PDP, LP, SDP, NNPP, APGA and YPP. The APC has 59 seats.
The alleged transfer to impose a pliable minority chief is probably not unconnected with the necessity for the APC to push by its selections and people of the Govt easily within the higher chamber.
