Libya/Nigeria: Reps Condemn Alleged In poor health-Therapy of Tremendous Eagles in Libya

The Home of Representatives has condemned the alleged inhumane therapy of the Tremendous Eagles and the delegation by the Libyan Soccer Federation/Libyan Authorities.

This was sequel to the adoption of a movement by Rep. Kabiru Amodu (PDP-Zamfara) at plenary on Tuesday in Abuja.

Shifting the movement earlier, Amodu mentioned that, the Tremendous Eagles of Nigeria was anticipated to play a return match fixture of the Africa Cup of Nation qualifier in opposition to the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

He mentioned that the match was scheduled to carry on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 after the North African staff was defeated by the Tremendous Eagles 1-0 at Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria.

The rep mentioned that, the Tremendous Eagles of flew to Libya on Sunday October 13, 2024 to play the return match of the qualifiers on the Martyrs of February Stadium, Benghazi, Libya scheduled for 8:00 PM of Tuesday October 15, 2024.

In accordance with him, among the many Nigerian contingent are Home of Representatives members led by the Deputy Chairman, Home Committee on Sports activities and likewise the Deputy Governor of Edo, Board members and all the crew of NFF.

“Involved in regards to the irritating 18-hour ordeal confronted by the tremendous Eagles of Nigeria at Al-Abraq Worldwide Airport in Libya, the place they had been left stranded on arrival at 14:00hr on Sunday October 13, 2024 until the staff and the contingent departed from the airport, after 18 hours.

“The fatigued and pissed off gamers resolved to not play the match any longer because of the hostilities by the Libyan Soccer Federation/Libyan Authorities,” he mentioned.

The home condemned in totality the inhumane therapy, frustration of the Tremendous Eagles and the delegation by the Libyan Soccer Federation/Libyan Authorities.

In his ruling, the Speaker, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas sympathised with the Tremendous Eagles, appreciated their patriotism and mandated the Committees on Sports activities and International Affairs to analyze the incident.
