Nigeria: I Prefer Younger Politicians as a Running Mate, – Peter Obi

The Nigeria Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has stated he prefers choosing a youthful and recent politician as his working mate.

Mr Obi stated this when he appeared as a visitor on the Come up TV programme, The Morning Present, on Wednesday.

He stated a youthful one who has “one thing to supply” to enrich his ticket can be chosen as an alternative to bringing “an outdated hand” who had been in authority prior to now.

Doyin Okupe, who identify the social gathering submitted to the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) as Mr Obi’s working mate in a placeholder capability, stated on Tuesday that Mr Obi and the LP would unveil a substantive vice-presidential candidate earlier than Friday.

There have been speculations that Mr Obi had picked 67-year-old Director of Publicity and Advocacy of Northern Elders Discussion board, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, as his working mate.

However, the LP presidential candidate stated though his working mate can be unveiled quickly, he was but to choose.

Requested when his manifesto can be launched, Mr Obi stated what he deliberate to do as president had been practised throughout his time as governor of Anambra State. He stated he intends to copy his achievements within the state on a big scale in Nigeria if elected president.

“How can I rent professors to put in writing or draft coverage paperwork for me that I do not even imagine in? What I did in Anambra and what I achieved are what we are going to replicate on a bigger scale (as Nigerian President). We would like Nigeria to grow to be the engine of manufacturing,” Mr Obi stated.

“I’ll assemble the kind of individuals I had in Anambra State. I instructed them, from day one, for those who agree with me in three conferences, you’ll go. I would like those that can look into my face and say, Mr President, you’re improper,” the previous governor added.
