The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Surroundings, Forestry and Fisheries, Ms Religion Muthambi, calls on South Africans from all walks of life to assume globally and act regionally as we rejoice the World Surroundings Day, underneath the theme: “Solely One Earth”.
She mentioned: “Allow us to replicate on the triple planetary emergency that the Earth faces, the local weather is warming up too rapidly for folks and nature to adapt, with disproportionally devastating influence on the poor in growing nations. The latest floods that ravaged the KwaZulu-Natal province, is a working example.”
