4 of the College of South Carolina Board of Trustees’ committees met on Friday
(June 10). The committees — Finance and Infrastructure; Well being and Medical Affairs;
Development, Engagement and Communications; and Tutorial Excellence and Scholar Expertise
— permitted actions that will likely be delivered to the Board of Trustees’ assembly on June
24 for full Board approval.
Here is a round-up of the actions taken:
- The fiscal 12 months 2023 Designated Funds Funds was permitted.
- Alumni Affiliation Board of Trustee Consultant Robin Roberts was permitted as a
non-board, non-voting knowledgeable advisor to the Development, Engagement and Communications
Committee. - Funds had been permitted for capital renovations to Harper School and DeSaussure School.
- Three 50-year easements on parts of college property had been permitted.
- The 2022 Complete Everlasting Enchancment Plan was permitted.
- For the Columbia campus — 39 tenure and promotion suggestions had been permitted for
the 2021 Fall cycle and 17 honorary tutorial titles had been permitted. - Ten applications on the Columbia campus had been slated for termination.
- Two new tutorial departments had been permitted for the Columbia campus, with the African
American Research and Ladies’s and Gender Research applications permitted to grow to be departments. - Minor school handbook adjustments had been permitted for USC Upstate, Palmetto School and USC
Columbia. - For USC Aiken — 5 tenure and promotion suggestions had been permitted for the 2021-22
cycle and two honorary tutorial titles had been permitted. - Two new tutorial applications had been permitted for USC Aiken.
- For USC Beaufort — 9 tenure and promotion suggestions had been permitted for the
2021-22 cycle. - For USC Upstate — 16 tenure and promotion suggestions had been permitted for the 2021-22
cycle. - For Palmetto School — six tenure and promotion suggestions had been permitted for
the 2021 Fall cycle.
