ECOWAS and the World Meals Program (WFP) collectively rejoice Worldwide Ladies’s Day 2022 in Dakar.

Gender equality as we speak for a sustainable future” is the theme chosen by the United Nations for the celebration of Worldwide Ladies’s Day, IWD 2022. This theme goals to show the potential and achievements of girls in motion and resilience to local weather change. It is usually a name for reflection on the right way to advance girls’s empowerment and promote sustainable and inclusive social and financial improvement by means of gender-transformative approaches and elevated participation of girls in management roles.

By a symposium specializing in “Gender equality as we speak for a sustainable future”, the ECOWAS Fee by means of its Regional Middle for Gender Improvement (CCGD) and the Regional Workplace of the World Meals Program (WFP) for West Africa will spotlight the influence of their varied applications on the financial empowerment of girls and elevated resilience to local weather change.

 

A high-level panel will thus be organized on 8 March, 2022, on the Novotel Resort in Dakar, Senegal, to debate the challenges of local weather change inasmuch as referring to gender points, particularly on the subject of the financial empowerment of girls, adopted by an exhibition of some achievements of girls’s associations engaged on the theme “Ladies, local weather change and resilience”.

 

The occasion will happen in a hybrid format to allow nations within the area to take part by videoconference. The opening of the symposium might be performed by the Commissioner for Social Affairs and Gender of the ECOWAS Fee and the Deputy Regional Director of the WFP Regional Workplace.
