New freight hall to open within the US Southeast with CPKC-CSX deal

Canadian Pacific Kansas Metropolis (CPKC) and CSX Company have reached an acquisition settlement with Genesee and Wyoming (G&W) to create a brand new freight hall which is able to join the US Southeast area with Texas and Mexico. 

When accomplished, CPKC and CSX will every purchase or function parts of Meridian and Bigbee Railroad (MNBR) in Alabama and Mississippi. 

The MNBR runs between Meridian, MS and Montgomery, AL and at the moment is operated underneath a mixture of possession and working agreements.

When the deal is full, CPKC and CSX will set up a direct CPKC-CSX interchange at or close to Myrtlewood, AL. In trade, G&W will purchase Canadian properties owned by CPKC in Alberta.
