Nigeria: Senate Confirms Three Extra INEC Electoral Commissioners

The Senate had earlier on Wednesday confirmed seven of the ten resident electoral commissioners nominated by President Bola Tinubu final week.

The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of the three remaining resident electoral commissioner nominees for the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).

These confirmed are Bunmi Omoseyindemi (Lagos), Anugbum Onuoha (Rivers) and Isma’ila Moyi (Zamfara). They had been absent in the course of the screening of seven of the ten RECs nominees on Wednesday.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, introduced affirmation of the three RECs after they had been cleared via a voice vote on the plenary.

The commissioners had been screened on the Committee of the Entire earlier than their affirmation was introduced.

President Bola Tinubu had final week nominated 10 RECs.
